Media artists play a big role in the media texts we see, hear, and read without us really realizing it. When talking about media ethics and advertising, media artists control our thoughts and actions. They may not agree with what they are presenting but they must obey the advertising agency’s will. Many copywriters are asked to sell products that do not work and are actually not good for us. For example, some diet, sport, and drinks are full of sugars that can hurt an individual more than the good stuff will help. I like how Berger mentions this because we tend to believe everything that we see and hear. Another important issue is how females are depicted in the media today. In the past curvy females were favored, but today, the skinnier the better. Young girls and adults take in this portrayal of women as beautiful and work so hard to transform their bodies and sometimes end up hurting themselves. Some television producers may not agree with what they are showing, but they continue to show these images for their own good and to keep their business running. They keep their business running at our own expense.
